The time might be right to Migrate to Office 365
Now might be the best time to consider a Microsoft Office 365 Migration. Microsoft recently announced that it will only support Office 2019 on computers using Windows 10. If your business is still using Windows 7 or 8.1 and you want to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2019, you have two choices:
- Migrate to Office 365
- Purchase licenses for Microsoft 2019. Keep in mind that if your office computers are more than three years old, you’ll likely need to upgrade your hardware to run the software. That’s a significant business expense.
Microsoft Office was first released in 1985. In 2011, Microsoft began giving business owners another option: Office 365. Office 365 is the more modern product.
Upgrade to Windows 10 or Subscribe to Office 365
If you choose not to upgrade to Office 2019, keep in mind that continuing to work on older computers with older software leaves businesses vulnerable to data loss, downtime, hackers and malware. Purchasing new Windows 10 computers and 2019 Microsoft Office licenses will be costly. Migrating your business data into Office 365 is the smarter investment. It positions your company for big improvements in communication, efficiency and collaboration.
Office 365 is a Subscription-as-a-Service (SaaS) software. It’s similar to Microsoft Office, but adds web-based access. Its applications will run on desktops, tablets and smartphones. You can access email, your calendar and your data anywhere through the internet. It’s subscription-based, so users get automatic program upgrades.
